Why I No Longer Recommend ClickFunnels (and What I Use Instead)

Here's why I quit completely quit recommending ClickFunnels:

1. Membership areas are VERY insecure. I would share the video I have of this simple exploit, but it would probably result in a significant loss of money for many people. Further, I’ve also experienced membership areas completely ceasing to take updates. The only fix? Duplicate the members area, create a completely new URL for the login screen, and then manually re-add every single member. Tell me how you’re going to deal with that when you have 500 members… Or even just 100!

2. Actionetics is garbage. I don't know a single person high up in that community who actually uses it. I don't even know how to use it and I don't see why they bothered to change the standard naming (lists, automations, sequences) to all of these other non-sensical names.

So you're already paying $97/mo. + at least $15 for ActiveCampaign

3. Affiliate center is not so reliable from what I've heard. Also, you can't ask questions and screen applicants AND automatically collect either w-9 or European tax forms like Kartra can.

4. In addition to the membership areas being insecure, the permissions system used to assign access to people also goes to a 404 page when you try to add a permission... Clunky... but doable for tech oriented people. Stupid for people who don't know what they're doing (most of em).

5. Page load times are garbage. Up to 10 seconds. This really isn't a point of concern for small time people... But I've heard stories of people earning up to $50k more in (I forget the time period) just by switching to Convertri... Which is the fastest loading page builder on the market. (I've worked with it and it's solid... And reknowned Facebook ads guy Maxwell Finn uses it).

6. Support is garbage. I had a membership area completely quit accepting updates. We were running a live program, went to support and said our issue was urgent and they still didn't get back to use for 3-4 days. We had to clone the membership area, manually re-add everyone, and change the log in link.

If you want my official recommendation:
Budget - Kartra. Best on the market right now in terms of features.

If you have some extra money/time, get Convertri and build you pages on there, then build you membership area, emails, checkout in Kartra.

Lastly, Kajabi...

Kajabi is optimized for a membership experience. And as much work as I and my friend love and put a ton of work into our products, the truth is, most people don't open them, and even fewer complete them.

Kajabi is optimized for the wrong piece of the experience, is one of the most expensive platforms out there.

I would rather pay for Kartra where I can have unlimited members in my membership area without paying extra just to support the thing that doesn't pay me money.

Kartra = new pages, new offers --> Money to support paying for the infrastructure.

You can see a walk-through I did of Kartra here.
